Gutted - Keep your oil topped up

Totally gutted. I purchased my 2009 Hybrid Estima 11 months ago after which I got a service. Two days ago, and less than 8k miles later, I heard rattling from the engine. Long and short, the engine oil had run dry, with no warning light, looks like the engines blown. Let this be a lesson to others.

That sucks  Any chance of getting a salvage engine or is it just not worth the cost vs replacement...?

Nephew had a severe engine rattle too.  We heard about it in an in-car phone call while he was in Malta and asking his Dad to pop into the garage to see about his Porsch.  Something about him not being aware you needed to put oil in it. 😅

There has been a complete Estima 2.4 engine on eBay for several weeks if that helps.
