Hi all,

I have a 2007 Estima. Both electric doors work but sometimes they don't shut fully and reopen by themselves......Or they open about 6" then shut by themselves.

Any ideas?

Cheers guys in advance 👍🏻

Been discussed on various forums.

Could be the sensor strip has been squashed.

I still doubt there is a sensor strip (sorry) it is more likely a motor overload sensor.  I had a little bit of grit on one track and experienced the same issue. Clean the tracks out with a vacuum cleaner, there is also one under the rear window glass, that is where my track had grit which stopped the door from closing, washed it out with WD40, no issues since.

you wouldn't have pictures of what you mean, would you? I have this issue with the passenger side where it begins to open, opens about a foot then flips and starts closing, often causing the children to quickly backtrack.

Thank you very much in advance.

There are roller tracks at the top of the sliding door and at the bottom viewed when the sliding door is open, these need a bit of a vacuum now and again. There is also a roller track just under the rear side window glass as in the picture, being outside this is likely to be where most dirt and grit gets picked up, I gave mine a blast with WD40 to wash out any grit and give a little lubrication.

Advice on my estima sliding door, three times now after leaving her parked at work (I know I locked because I always double check) I return to see the drivers side sliding door out of line looking like it has not shut properly, I check and all the doors are still locked. Unlock and the door stays out of line but then I open it and it does shut properly. Has it maybe been tampered with?

Sounds more of a latching issue. Have you stood and watched over the door for a while?

Have you cleaned the track right up to the close point?
