Under the seats cable

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I found a loose cable under the passenger and driver seat while cleaning the car, any idea what it is ?

Thanks

I don't know your model but many seats are connected, lumber support, rake, height, heating, rear belt alert, even massage.

Then different models in a range may have a standard wiring bundle without the facilities.

Is there a function that you should have that dors not work?  Besides the function not being installed, disconnection of the seat belt warning might be an obvious one.

IMO if you go through all the functions in the car from seat belt, heated seats rear USBs if you have them etc etc and all are working OK then I would tape the end of the cable up or put a connecter on it and leave it under the seat.

In fairness there shouldn't be any spare cables not connected or left trailing but maybe a previous owner carried out some mod in the car.

tbh its very common to find looms taped up, for functions not use in all models

how many pins does it have ?

I see you're in Europe, it's LHD most LHD cars are prewired for the cold weather pack, if it's a 2 pin plug, It's for the heated seat option

Yes, it's a LHD as I am in France.

It's a 2017, automatic 1.8L Design finish.

I don't have anything that's supposed to work that does not, and this model is supposedly without heated seats.

I will take a closer look at it.

Looks like a 2 pin connector

Is it "complicated" to connect the seats and activate this option ?

Add the switch, add the fuse, the hard bit is fitting the heating element iirc the verso only uses 1 per seat

Looking at this installation manual, can I assume that the heating pads are already in the seats and what remains is fitting the wiring harness?

You have the wiring in the car from the factory but no pads in the seats, pop the cup holders out, and you will find the connector for the switch (8 pin, blue iirc)

base models and UK spec cars don't have the wiring from the factory

the toyota heat pads and switch kit is expensive, PZ457-E8312-00

Unless it's taped down and hidden, I didn't see a connector under the cup holders.

It should be there, it could be taped up/hidden

silly question, it's not plugged in to the back of the switch blanking cover ??

If it's there, then they hid it well 😅.

Nope, not plugged into the cover.

Is this it ?
