button next to heated rear window

Hi,

Hope someone can help me with something , ive had a avensis vermont since new on 2003 and the cd player keeps coming up with a ERR1 message, ive replaced it but had to buy the whole dash complete with the satnav unit, cd player, air vents etc etc, but in this replacement there is a button ( well red dot light) next to the heated rear window button, it doesnt have one in my old one but there is a spare electric plug in the back thats fits,

 

What id like to know is if i plug it in, what does it do?

Could it be the L.E.D. for the alarm? 

Plug it in and see, the worst thing that can happen is that it will blow a fuse, but it probably won't.
