2012 Rav4 XTR Sat Nav - "System not not installed"

Happy New Year All,

I have recently bought a 2012 Rav4 D4D XT-R. The infotainment head has a MAP NAV button but when I press it it comes up "System not installed". Does that mean it never cam with satnav or it needs updating? Either way an advice would be appreciated as I would like to get it up and running.

Means that the sat nav module isn't installed. Not software.

Satnav was an option at that time so I'd suggest that it was never installed.

IIRC it comes as an additional module - others may well confirm or otherwise. Whether it is worth the cost of installing now vs. use of smartphone or dedicated satnav is a question you will need to consider ...

Thank You - Yes I just needed to confirm as if it was just a case of buying an update disc it would still be worth it.
