Yaris 2013, driving down motorway - horn started to sound

Hi All,

Was driving down the motorway, all of a sudden the horn started to sound - main headlights were on. after 10 min switched off main lights and just left the side lights on(still daylight) horn stopped. everytime i switched the main headlights on the horn sounded.  Got back, side light would on by itself after 10 mins and not switch off, then the horn went off again, switched car on and fiddle with lights etc, after 5-10 mins horn went off with the lights.

After 20 mins same thing, lights back on then horn sounded, found the fuse for the horn to switch it off. lights were still on. Called the AA who took the relay out for the lights.

Any advise on this? Faulty 12V Battery.

Faulty alarm!

That was my second or third thought, but my belief was that (decent) alarms didn't use the horn these days as they are fairly easily disabled by knowledgeable scumbags.

Where were you driving to? Could be the car is warning you about something...

Warning me not to go to Luton 🙂 but took the car to my local garage and he could not find anything wrong, went to pick up the car. Switched it on then main lights within 30 secs the the horn  went off. He's going to have a look again tomorrow.
