Knocking in boot

Hi all just wondering if anyone has come across and found out what causes a knocking tapping rattle seems to come from the rear nearside and only going over speed humps.

Now we dont fly over the humps and sometimes it doesn't occur.

Iv looked felt around checked the space saver is tight and taken the jack and gunk pump out but it still happens hoping someone has an answer 🤔🤔

This may sound daft but it might actually be the plastic buckle of the seat belt knocking against the pillar.

Rear shelf parcel cover uncliped from its exact hinges may also worth checking. 👍

Are you sure that there are no bound and gagged gangsters in there?

Thanks guys will have a look.

Too loud and heavy to be seatbelt buckle.

More of a metal sound and thud to be parcel shelf.

Must be small gangsters to fit in the Yaris boot lol

Sorry to be confusing Gtiaps, just my strange sense of humour.

But now you've mentioned small gangsters, Joe Pesci is a tiny fellow, and was terrifying in that casino film.

I reckon you could get him in a Yaris boot with a bit of shoving and bending double.

Knocking noises are annoying though, and from what I've read on here, it's mainly a process of elimination of possibles one by one.

Hope you find it soon.

Not a problem I'm use to forum banter even with replies like your good self. I think Joe Pesci and Lester Piggott must be having a ball 🤣🤣

But yup very annoying I dont drive it often but its ideal for short journeys as appose my 2.0lt diesel Evoque but its the wife's Gr Sport and she loves it apart from this noise 😀

Ah, no problems fellas,Joe Pesci in my opinion is a great actor, when you think of the sheer effort and talent the man must have had to crack Hollywood, it's immense.

I suppose it helped that he had the ear of De Nero, but still a great stand alone actor.

Did you see him in my cousin Vinny?

Still remember the velvet suit he wore in court.  He was brilliant in the home alone movies as well.

Raging Bull also comes to mind and finally the Irishman.  All completely relevant to the Toyota forum.  😁

Yes, very good in those, but those classic 90s I think ,gangster films showcased his talent to the best he could be.

You really wouldn't want one of the characters he played in the boot of a Yaris.

Mine does this knocking noise. It sounds like something on the left side of the boot.  I keep thinking I’ll get anchorwoman to drive while I investigate then I forget all about it 🙄.  Mine also does the hollow knocking noise during warm up which I’m convinced is the EGR warming up and it clunks setting off in reverse.  All of these noises have been reported in various posts, none of them cause me any concern.  Nothings fallen off yet, it’s a cracking little car.

It's her secret chocolate hoard under the rear seat squab.

That could well be the problem.  There are fans and ducts (not ducks 🦆) under there.

He's in Yorkshire. I wouldn't be so sure about that.
