2023

This is the first day of 2023, I’m feeling good and look forward to the next 12 months with a positive view.  Maybe it’s my second large glass of an excellent Pinot Noir red wine that’s giving me a nice little glow but I’m glad to see the back of 2020, 2021 and 2022.  I might a have a wee nip of whisky before I go to bed tonight but driving my Yaris Cross tomorrow is not on the agenda.  All the best to every member on the forum.  Cheers 🥃

Still on my second glass of wine.  Not sure if I should add Horlicks to my dram of whisky before I go to bed.  On second thoughts it’s maybe not a good idea.

It's heresy. Nicola would have you 'dealt with'.

I know what you mean Mike.  😀

Given the time stamps I'm guessing there was more than one dram involved tonight ...

(Just finishing my 3rd JWRL at 0130 🤣 )

Mike, I see you like a Johnny Walker Red Label, which I quite like myself.  However, I’m more of a highland or Speyside single malt fan but my wife gave me a Christmas present  of a Marks and Spencer 8 year aged blended whisky which has an Abv of 42%.  It really is a quality product and I had very enjoyable Christmas Day discerning it tasting notes. My wife actually works for Marks and Spencer and gets a staff discount but it’s still a well priced whisky.  Photo attached.

I've only been drinking scotch regularly for a few months and I don't have a fine palate. I did some research and JWRL and Bell's Original seemed to fit the bill, so that's what I've been on mostly.

However I did buy myself a bottle of 'cheap' Speyside single malt (Glen Moray from Tesco) as a Christmas treat/experiment and did like it better - a little less 'spicy' perhaps. So when my current stocks are depleted I will likely be investigating those a bit more. We don't have a convenient M&S unfortunately (for carting bottles from at least).
