Hi Guys

Happy New Year

If i get a speeding ticket i will be asking Toyota to pay it why ? My HUD display is being randomly blocked by direction settings i have not requested ever. This happens more frequently when i am driving through a rural area riddled with speed cameras and rapidly changing speed limits. Today i encountered that nightmare scenario after setting the cruise control to a set limit  then after i had changed the setting  the map appeared blocking my view of that setting shortly before entering a designated 30 mph limit, so in effect i had no idea if my setting had worked until well after I had entered that zone extremely  irritating. This minefield can be found on the A171 driving through Whaplode  in Lincs.

There is description on how to change the settings on a US Youtube site here https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/hud-compass.1632372/  which is applicable to a Camry which is quite complex but it might  apply to the UK Corolla.

Any suggestions or feedback would be much appreciated.

If you really mean the HUD, you can go into the HUD settings and turn off navigation display so it only shows e.g. speed and rpm/efficiency and signs.

It sounds like there might be a saved navigation still active on the satnav tho' - Might be worth checking that and clearing it if it is.

My parents do that a lot on their Verso as they keep forgetting how to cancel the navigation, so if they change their minds and go somewhere else without setting the new destination, the current navigation never finishes and just keeps trying to navigate them to the original destination

Just to add Toyota would not pay any fine as you still have the display speedo that is always on - the HUD is an addition.
