How to remove the dashboard air vents

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Could someone tell me please to remove the air vent above the screen unit ? It doesn't budge 😩.

I am trying to access the back of the multimedia unit.

Thanks.

You don't need to remove the vents to get the radio out

Just remove the 4 screws, 2 either side of the radio that hold the rusty looking brackets

I think it has to be removed before, the air vent is attached to the radio.

The way I remove this vent is using the tool you have and prise it out a bit along the top. Then with your hands and fingers grab it from the left hand side alongs the top (doing one side first is easier, then the right side will come out easy) and yank it towards you. You'll need to get them fingers underneath. Just remember a harness is connected to the hazards. Do short but forceful pulls towards you and it should pop out. Good luck

It's a LHD auto.

Not sure about the radio, I couldn't get it out yet.

The vent is just clipped in place then use a trim tool or a flat blade with the end taped up

pics of the vent for reference

I will try this, I am hesitating to force it too much.

Finally pulled it out, I did exactly as shown in the video and used a taped flat 👍.
