Yes Bob, I do remember that.

Big stacks of coins on the kitchen table.

Impossible to get in debt with it,as no coin, no gas/electric.

Since then of course things have been improved to the point where whole agencies have been created to resolve the problems of poor money management.

If I understand it correctly the Government will not give any help next year on energy bills,

They are banking that energy prices drop, but as they are due to rise again any reduction will not be significant to help most families . That's not good.

Anyone signed on to this energy saving scheme to cut energy use at certain times of day and receive a payment from the energy supplier ?

If so is it worth signing up to it, bearing in mind one would need to have a smart meter installed ?

No worries about a smart meter, except it failed before Christmas, but I don't think Ovo is signed up for it
