Hello, well an expensive day today, I’ve only gone and ordered a new Yaris cross excel with city pack, I should be able to collect in April, I hope I’ve done the right thing in choosing one, i was impressed with the test drive and the auto gears were no problem at all, even my wife , who’s never driven an auto easily got to grips with it, albeit round an empty car park just to be sure, it has the same level of equipment as my current car, a  ford puma first edition , I just hope it doesn’t have the same level of faults as mine had, it’s just about three years old ( in a few days) and I picked it up from the dealers having just had a new engine fitted ( one of many faults) , anyway, the wait starts now, although I have been invited back to take another drive of one anytime, an offer I will definitely take up, so am looking forward to meeting you all ..

Not to mention a new dash to fix a rattle ( airbag bracket) , a replacement module to fix a faulty door lock, I hope Toyotas legendary build quality and reliability lives up to itspromise

Thanks everyone for your lovely welcome’s, my plan is to keep this one for a few years , with retirement only three years away I’m hoping it will see me to that and a bit beyond.

Alan, don't ignore the possibility of replacing your Yaris in a couple of years.

At the 2 year point with my Corolla, and another 18 months to run, my dealer invited us in to consider options.  Obviously one was to stump up the £10k or so at the end of the term.

We saw the Yaris Cross and it met our needs for a larger boot and higher seating.  The offer was a no deposit, level payment, part exchange.  The offer was irresistible.

We shall be looking to start the replacement in Sep 24, only this time I shall definitely look at selling rather than PX.

Mine tried the same thing but could only offer a worse car than the one I already had... quite a tough sell!
