I have always used Falken tyres, reasonably priced, excellent quality and far, far better than the YinYang ditchfinders!

I have falkens ecorun on the front of my Yaris for about 3 years, a few months ago I noticed the tyre skipping on full lock. Its got approx 4mm+ left.

This usually happens on slippery roads and it’s normal when driving slow on full lock.

My Mk1 was terrible for that due to the compromised steering angle; If I was manoeuvring in a carpark with that smooth tar surface it sounded like someone was drifting around the carpark

Today was the day! They arrived. Delivery guy asked me if I saved much by ordering them, but he nearly choked when I told him they were around £150 a wheel! Gotta love how these just turn up with no box or anything!  Got them fitted at a nearby tyre garage where the guys are civil and will chat to you as they do the work.

First impressions weren't too clear due to the snow / roads being icy and slippy here... but I can feel that they are smoother, a tad, not quieter but less annoying in the sound? The car just feels a bit more cushioned and steady when going fast in a straight line. And the feel of accelerating kicks in a bit sooner from the extra grip or feels to be a bit more direct - I'm not good at describing these things. But it's certainly an improvement!

To be fair, I think they realized putting tyres in boxes was a waste of money and cardboard - It's not like they need protection from anything that the box could protect them from!

But yeah it's nice when you just get new tyres, esp. from a premium manufacturer. They know how to make that initial feel really nice

And Michies should last longer - They tend to maintain their performance more consistently down to the legal limit, whereas most other manufacturer's tyres experience a decline in some areas; The tyres I tend to go for get noticeably worse in the wet as they wear down, but also better in the dry.

Nice one, enjoy your new tyres 🛞👍 New fresh rubber it’s always better than old hard ones, or perhaps not. Once I changed 12 years old Michelins to brand new firestones to discover more noise afterwards and I was shocked and gutted 😢. Premium tyres wort every penny. 👍

Haha yeah, I had Firestone Multihawks on my first Yaris. I didn't realize how mediocre they were until I'd worn them down and changed to Conti Premium Contact 2E's   (At the time, £35 each!!! :yahoo:  They'd be 2-3 times that now!! :crybaby: )

I remember the PC2E being a very good tyre... a lot better than the PC5 that came later!!

For the mid range Nexen and Hankook are my top favourite. Then Kumho, Toyo, Yokohama. There are some ec brands that also offer good value for money, Vredestein, Kleber, Barum, Debica, but again when shop for tyres best to do a research and review fro owners that used the tyres for some time and had a good view how they behave while age. And important here not all models are best from the same brand, and the size also matters 🛞👌
