Hi all is a 130k mileage 2litre diesel a risky buy? Does this have the same engine as the the 2004 D-4D? Belt or chain timing belt? if belt i assume its the same schedule as the older engine every 60k?

Many thanks

Any 15 year old car with 130k miles is a risky buy, but I'd say less risky than most.

That will be the newer 1AD-FTV engine, not the same as the 2004.  Timing chain not belt.  No DPF.  Mine is the same age and 160K, had it since 30K, no major issues, still drives great.  Hoping to get to 200K but we'll see.

I have no experience with the DPF version, but I wouldn't buy any diesel with DPF unless I was doing regular long drives.

I thought older engines had problems with cylinder linings and burning oil .they solved that problem with the newer 2.0d4d engines .I wonder what the 2014 last of the 2.0 1adftv engines are like. I hope I get loads of miles out of mine .I was chatting with taxi drivers with a 2014 2.0 1adftv angines they told me had no problems with them at all
