1.6 4age 20v Paseo Turbo

I came across this website

and was wondering whether this is the stock engine that has been bored out, turboed and had fith injectores put in or is it a new engine!

i was looking into getting a paseo but didnt know how much potential the 1.5 had!

the one above i thingk was at about 160bhp and running 13 sec 1/4s!

if it is a conversion does this cost much to do,and insurre?

if not what is the most u know u can get out of the 1.5,ive seen turbos that claim a 56%increase in power???

any help or coments would be appreciated!!!

It's a 4AGE conversion, i.e completely different engine.

Generally people seem to thing that bolting a turbo onto the factory engine is a no-go. The other option is wacking a Starlet turbo 4EFTE in.

Cost for any of this is going to be quite a bit!

thats a member of Paseopimp.com - think it was Chris (from memory he was pushing a lot more than 160bhp)

he swapped in a 1.6 4AGTE Silvertop.

over here a 4AGTE swap from Fensport would cost around 1,500

You can get a Turbo kit for the stock 5EFE/5EFHE but its around 2K i think.

It looks like a stock 4age 20v to me pushing 160bhp from a silver top No idea how much that would be to do that conversion but I reckon it would be fun :D and the 13 sec 1/4 I think not :P :P

Nice one 20v turbo's can push out some big bhp

i like the sound of dropping a 2ltr in as my mate said that instead of doing a thing to mine get a 2ltr as he said they could cope a lot better with tuning and it ture they could push a lot more bhp!!!!

The idea does sound very interesting!!

Hey guys I need help bad... I have an american spec 95' (7AFE)corolla here in the UK. I've gone through 3engines the last 1 went after having a turbo on it for 10min although the boost was low, i really don't think that was the full cause. Anyway the car still runs but the top end is partially gone. I think it could be rebuilt but the place that did the work thinks it would be best for me to get another engine. That is easier said then done, I'd have to get it shipped from the US. I'm thinking of getting a 4AGE 20V from http://www.jbmotorsport.co.uk/

who can do the install here in the UK and is it possible to put a turbo on the 20V. I'm sure my local garage can do it, but I'm thinking I want someone who specializes in this sort of conversion

Try Fensport mate they will have the engine and if they will not do the converstion they would be able to point you in the direction of someone that will.

that engine is a stock looking silvertop 20v. they are about 140 bhp standard (toyota quoted 160 bhp on an engine dyno with 100 ron fuel, and no ancillaries attatched to the engine)

this engine was found in the ae101 corolla and levin and the ae111 corolla and levin (later model ae111 are called blacktops, and are better again)

this swap has actually been done here in ireland a couple of times into a paseo.

this engine has 4 individual throttles. the engine can be turbocharged using ae92 gze pistons, or arias low comp pistons (with flycuts for the 5 valves)

this engine will swap straight into any toyota that uses the 4af/4afe/7afe/4age as standard. that includes all corollas (from ae82 onwards not including the ae86 which obviously takes this engine too),celicas and carinas.

they use a specific 20v gearbox, but the engine also bolts up to 4age box and 4agze box. it will also, to the best of my knowledge, bolt up to a 4afe/7afe gearbox.....but theres no reason that you would want to do that.
