A lot of marked bays are half on the pavement down here.

In our road, which is a cul-de-sac, we reached an agreement with the local authority and police, where vehicles can be parked with two wheels on the pavement to enable access by emergency vehicles. Previously we did have occurrences where ambulances couldn't reach the top of the road due to the width of the ambulances and parked cars restricting the available access.

Where I live cars are parked up blocking all the pavment you have to go past on the green or walk on the road.

If its winter then its the road if you have a pram then its the road again!.

You're very lucky - A lot of the time they just put in double-yellows so nobody can park there!

Why dont they park on the green or just part way over the foot path OH some double park one on the footpath and another beside it on the green.

On top of this the one on the green always pulls away uphill chewing up the grass.

All done after getting the local councillor and police involved in a street meeting, where the parking issues were evidenced to both, and the agreement was confirmed in writing to each household. This doesn't prevent careless parkers blocking the pavement and causing an obstruction to pedestrians, etc being fined.

We've just had 'no parking on the path' signs. Local councillor explained that putting wheels on the grass verge cause ruts when wet and anyone tripping over sues the council!
