Parking Brake Unavailable?

Your Battery is too low to engage the breaks and the engine.

You need to charge the Battery and then leave in ‘Ready’ to continue the charge. Driving doesn’t make it recharge any quicker.

Just had the AA here who fixed the same fault for me - I’d left the door open vacuuming and this is enough to deaden a Battery on a hybrid.

I have permanently switched off the internal lights to prevent this sort of thing happening and to help preserve the 12v Battery.  Also when cleaning the interior or washing the car I put it in ready mode so the hybrid Battery charges the 12v Battery,  If the hybrid battery gets a bit low during this period the engine will run for just a few minutes to recharge it.

Cleaning the car interior with all doors opened will not kill your Battery unless your Battery been low before you start cleaning and 20 min of interior lights been enough to finish it. After 30 min if you keep the doors still open your interior lights will dim off and no Battery draining anymore.
The lights will come on again when you close the doors and off straight after that. For people who doesn’t drive often and on long trips keeping the car in ready mode while valeted it’s good idea. 👍
