Cat theft Prevention

I was wondering about the post on Catalytic Converter Theft and a man made material called proteus

It is a revolutionary new material that is non-cuttable and lightweight. It has increased protection against angle grinders and power drills. Proteus Material performs better than hardened steel in tests, and it is also much lighter.

Now would it work if a couple of wide brackets could be secured over the cat and secured with the same security wheel nuts on you car. This would be cheaper then the cat traditional catlocks. Just an idea.

Bob I don't know how much this would cost but if its cheaper then whats out on the market and you can't cut it then it may work. Surprised manufacturers are not fitting something to stop this.

HI Mark,

I do not no how much it would cost to produce but they have made bike padlocks out of proteus and it seems like a good idea to prevent cat thefts.

I'm sure there must be loads of ways this could be used and the fact it can't be cut must be the selling point to protect your car. It's been around for a couple of years and its man made so I assume it would be a lot cheaper then the stainless steel used on many cats.

As theft it is such a big problem maybe someone will take this on board.🤔
