bZ4X Remote Parking Function

Today, I was discovering car settings and the infotainment menu. I saw that remote parking is activated on the car side but the MyT application is not operational to use this function. This means if remote parking becomes legal, we may get this feature in the future!

I was wondering that as one document certainly for the Vision model talks about Advanced Parking Assist with remote parking, but it's not mentioned on the current specs (though I can't even get access to brochures at the moment as they have been removed from the Toyota website).
Remote parking is legal in the UK, a quick google revealed that it seems so since 2018 / 2019.

I had remote park on my 2018 Merc. I was supposed to get it on my RZ and as above the car has the capability. Customer Service told me that there is a separate App to control the car but Toyota / Lexus won’t release it for use in Europe as they are concerned over the legal implications of any damage caused whilst using it.

I am expecting my BZ4X Vision AWD in Mar 24 to replace the current Motion AWD purchased in Jan 23.  As I understand it, the new Vision model will have advanced park assist but I am getting mixed messages whether the remote parking function will be available.  It is in the downloadable manual.  There is a Toyota Remote Park app and I have seen a video from a Scandinavian country demonstrating the remote parking (search YouTube “Remote Parking med Toyota BZ4X”).

I would love a definitive answer as this could be a good selling point for Toyota but won’t stop my order - loving the car too much.

The app has appeared on the Google Play store too (previously only the Japanese version could be found) so maybe it will soon be possible to use the app.

Looking at the pictures it's not clear if it just allows for fairly basic movements, I suspect the idea is to pull the car out of a space where someone has parked too close making it difficult to access the doors?

Can confirm this works. Just tried it with my Premier edition and was able to move it forwards and backwards from outside the car with the app.

Needed car play disabling in the car to connect so need to do some testing of whether that is always the case.

Haven’t tried anything more than forwards and backwards yet.

Tested this again after turning Car Play back on and it still works. 
so just need Car Play off for initial setup. 
It does also suppor both bay and parallel parking from what I can see, just haven’t tried that yet.

I can certainly see it useful when someone has parked too close on the passenger side as even in parent and child spaces it can be difficult to get a toddler in and out.

That’s great.  Gives me confidence that the Vision AWD I have on order (the daughter has one on order too) for Mar 2024 will have this functionality.  So looking forward to the new BZ4X, but am still in love with driving the current one.

Was looking for the app too - cannot find on App Store (25/1/24).  Just received my Vision model 2 weeks ago so disappointed that this and digital key are not apparently available in uk?  Unless anyone knows how to make these functions live some way?   Have contacted Toyota with the query but sadly no response yet.

Just glad I downloaded it when I did then.
