Hi guys,

Have just had bad news from my mechanic for my corolla tsport 2zzge engine.

Had been chasing p0301 cylinder 1 misfire code since purchasing the car, replaced all the normal ignition items, spark plugs, coil packs and also refurbished injectors, same issue.

Mechanic compression tested all cylinders and they're all down on compression, but cylinder 1 being the worst. It's really strange as performance still seems to be excellent and can't feel any misfires.

Cylinder 1- 105psi

Cylinder 2,3,4 - all around 130psi

Can anyone tell me the book figures for compression on the 2zzge engine?

Mechanic removed the rocker cover to inspect camshafts and rocker arms which appear to be fine, so we're going to go down the route of removing the head to inspect further.

Is there anything to be particularly aware of with this issue on this engine? Anything to look out for?

Lastly, can anyone point me in the right direction for the correct timing tool kit for this engine?
