I don't think so (officially) as Toyota do not specify pressures for 1 or 2 up or 5 plus luggage.

As suggested elsewhere in the forum,  if you find problems with 29psi try experimenting with higher pressures.

Just out of curiosity,  does the TPMS system in the car throw a wobbly when driving with a Space Saver wheel ?

Not a wobbly as such but I suspect it'll continue to beep warn and generally annoy (So normal behaviour  ) - It'll still be sensing the flat wheel as the space saver doesn't have a TPMS sensor (At least I don't think it has... haven't actually checked mine now that I think about it!)

My new Yaris doesn't have a spare.  My Corsa (which I sold to We Buy Any Wreck.com) didn't either but I got a space saver for that which isn't compatible with the Yaris so I left it in the boot when we parted company.  I'd like to get one for the new car so can anyone recommend which type and size (Yaris Excel 24 plate) and a good company to use.  I have researched this and I see that they do 18 inch wheels which have the five holes etc. but could I get away with something smaller? Or should I get a new wheel, which is probably a step too far financially.

The best one is the RAV4 version which is the best fit.  @parts king will sort you out.

Hello everyone, I've just joined, as I have just bought a brand new hybrid Yaris Excel (17" wheels).

I would like to get a spare wheel for it- a space saver is fine- and I have found a few online. I know that I need a five stud example, and I know that a 16" is fine to run on in an emergency.

My questions are-

Do all sizes of space saver fit in the wheel well? 16, 17"?

Do I need a separate set of open ended nuts? On my previous car (EcoBoom Fiesta) I had to have separate nuts for the spare as the alloy ones would bottom out before the wheel was tight.

Thank you!

Yes to both.

No. (as long as you get the OEM (Toyota) kit)

The OEM kit includes all the parts needed by a complete installation. (see photos of my 17" kit)

Hi

I have a Excel on order and the dealer is going to supply and fit a spare wheel kit

As CPN ha said it is possible to order the parts yourself

There is another thread running which also gives a list of potential suppliers

But I am unable to locate it

Refer to page 194 and 195 regarding tightening the nuts when using a steel or aluminium spare wheel.

Another possibly silly question- but I'm a Toyota newbie, please be gentle!

Are the spare wheels for the Yaris different to those for the Yaris Cross? As I see an awful lot of stuff available for the Cross, but not the hatchback. Thank you!

Just purchased 2024 plate Yaris Cross Design. I am looking to purchase a space saver wheel. As I already have suitable jack and wheel brace am only looking for wheel. There are several on eBay stating for 2021 model onwards(5 stud). Would anyone know if the fitment for 2021 onwards is indeed suitable for 2024 model. Apologies if this topic has already been covered

These two models are different stud patterns.
Cross uses sizes from Auris , Avensis so much easier to source spare wheels.
Standard Yaris has similar to Prius stud pattern. You can check here for yourself if needed.

Thanks for the reply Tony! In the end, I forked out and got the official spare wheel kit new with the car.

Got our 22 plate Cross couple of weeks ago, very pleased up to now but not happy about the absence of a spare wheel. Toyota spares direct had a 16" steel on their website so i ordered one but now they tell me they haven't any in stock and don't know when they'll get any. After much research it seems the Auris 16" wheels are the same specification, ie stud pattern, offset etc so i've ordered one from a breakers on eBay complete with tyre for £60. Fingers crossed it fits.

have you also ordered a jack, jack handle, wheel wrench, spare wheel retaining screw etc.?

Have you gone for a space saver or a full width wheel & tyre?

Full size wheel and tyre. I’ve got the tools needed for a tyre change but need a portable jack. I’ve got a trolley jack but don’t fancy lugging that around. I’ll get a scissor jack from a breakers.

I got a skinny spare, jack and bolts from the above place - np problem
