Basic Scan Tool

Not really sure what best basic scan tool to go for. I want to be able to get get codes and reset if needed. Recommendations please.

Thanks for the reply £150-£250 max. Not looking for fancy just something that does the job.

Get a twenty quid fella from Aldi (if your local has any remaining stock) or Eurocarparts. If that does you fine, then stick with it. If not, then it is a cheap introduction and a lesson into what will suit you better. Also a cheap utility tool to throw in the boot. The cheaper ones may not reset ABS codes and almost certainly not SRS (airbag) codes. The ones around £150 and up certainly should.
