Ok,

What is up with Dealers not having/willing to tell you what APR they are going to give you?

The finance guy we spoke with said something about they do not have to tell us what APR they are providing us - BS!

My freak'n Retail store is happy to tell me the APR they provide on any finance offer, why can't you?

C'est la vie - Toyotas' loss, sourced our finance elsewhere.

First when the dealer quotes you a figure they will try & get away with not telling you the APR as its usually higher than high st headline rates. Second, the salesman or finance person will use a flat rate or PAF as they can work this out on a calculator, without a computer they cant work out the APR.

As for a printed quote, then they have to supply the APR on the quote its a legal requirement unless the quote is in a company name or the amount is higher than £25k as this would then be a non-regulated agreement & the APR doesnt have to be shown.

At the end of the day Toyota Dealer lost out due to not being open and they are there to sell cars, so fair play to 'thecanadian'; you did right to walk away.

As is always said in any car buyers guide:

"If in doubt never forget how easy it is to walk away!"
