Hi all, need some help on what to do. My Estima arrived from Japan this week from a long haul journey ( 6 months ) and the Battery is completely dead. It reads around 2 volts. I want to attempt to recharge it but I have been reading that I should use a memory saver to not lose data when disconnecting the Battery. Problem is I don't have a spare Battery to connect the memory saver. Saying that I don't mind resetting the time and losing data on head unit as it will be replaced anyway as its al in Japanese. My biggest concern is will disconnecting battery mess up immobiliser? Thanks

no problem the immobilizer is a protected system if the Battery is in the rear it will be an AGM type if the Battery is really at 2 volts it's done for there is no hope left for it

Why not just purchase a replacement and connect it up without first disconnecting the existing one?

Changing the Battery shouldn't mess up the imobiliser, Just change my main Battery as it was the original and 10 years old, also had been in storage so not good. just swapped it over, no dramas.

I just change the Battery but give the system time to go to sleep before disconection.

Leave keys out of the lock.

Radio settings will be useless over hear so you be ok

Somtimes memory saver keeps airbag system awake and give you more problems.

Hello,

I disconnected my 12V Battery and wasn't aware of potential impact on data saver until now. I reconnected it and had no issue with radio etc. (Maybe I was lucky)
