1 Year Old Corolla

Apologies, a bit late doing this.

Picked up my 2022 Corolla last week. Replaced my 5 year Passat that was going to cost a few bob in March when a service, mot, cam belt change, brake fluid change and a few more things were due! Had my eye on the Corolla for a while and when the local dealership had a Corolla Touring Sport Design (still can't remember the right order to write that 🙄 ) I decided to take the plunge. The Pasatt had quite a bit of tech on it but the Corolla has more options I think, in terms of whether or how you use the it. The way different manufacturers implement the tech is slowing me down a bit, I have had things like headlight assist, park assist, auto hold etc on the Passat but Toyota's implementation is quite different. Anyway I'm quite enjoying getting my head around it and certainly enjoying the car. I'm still at the stage where I'm prepared to jump in the car for the smallest of errands.

Haven't been on a decent run yet but getting 40+ mpg on short local trips in cold weather so hopefully the mpg will be good. I went for a 1.8 to try and reduce ongoing costs such as insurance.

I apologise in advance for the myriad of questions I will be asking but this does seem to be a knowledgeable and friendly community.

Thanks all for your comments. I'm a member of a few support forums but have to say that my early impressions of this one is that its one of the better ones.

I did like the Passat, it was a lovely car and didn't cost me a penny in repairs in 5 years of ownership. That was going to catch up with me in March though.  However that was 9nly maintenance really,  not repairs.
