Hey I have a Yaris 1.3 automatic on 56 plates and when I press the start button doesn’t start. No codes shown off on tester. The start button is on green , is in neutral. Wondering if anyone had this before. Yesterday evening was alright.thank you

Put it in park.(P) on selector.

Doesn’t have a P. The sequence is neutral, brake pressed and press start button

A dying battery or bad starter, is it an ignition with a key or is it keyless ?

Is keyless. I’ve tested with another Battery still the same .

Did it start normally before you changed the fob Battery

Place the fob on or near the start button, you should hear the steering unlock, foot on the brake, press the start button

2007 57 seems very early for keyless, or is it a 2017 67 plate

The early ones had a fairly notorious but not hugely common issue where the pedal switch that tells the ECU you've pressed the brake (Auto) or clutch (Manual) failed randomly. Taking it out and cleaning it with switch cleaner often helped from what I remember.

When you try to start the car, does it just power up the 12v system and radio, but not start the car? Also, if there is a light on the Start button, does it change colour when you press the brake/clutch?

Hey. When I press the brake pedal the light in the start button changes in green like normally does. Power up the dash and I can hear the fuel pump but nothing happens like try to spin or any click . Tried to put in gear and the start button light goes to red like normally does. Back to neutral and the button goes green . Yesterday everything was fine. This morning had to take the motorcycle as it didn’t start. A red gear wheel stays on a bit longer after all the lights on dash turns off.

Is a 2007 on 56 plates. The batteries in fobs are alright meaning the start button goes green or red if is gear. Done that trick with holding the fob next to the start button when I bought it . I’ve change them in October and was all good since . I’m hoping to be a bad earth or something as the car was sitting for a year before I got it in September
