Hybrid health check

I’ve just had my first service and although the health check passed the auxiliary Battery charging failed. The comment on the report says ‘Although the hybrid health check was successful, we detected a drop in performance of the conventional 12V battery’

Ideas please, is the 12V Battery going to fail? The majority of my journeys although short in distance take 45 minutes to an hour in time to complete so I thought my Battery would be ok.

I'd pester the dealer for more details and what they are recommending, as that could mean anything from the battery's on its way out and you need a new one, to, it was just a bit low and just need to charge it up a bit!

Your car is far too new to be needing a new Battery so I would hope it'd be covered under warranty if it did need one, especially since you are using the car regularly and not just letting it sit parked up for weeks on end!

Yes that’s a bit of a vague statement, ask them for an explanation, and a free recheck in a few weeks time to see if it has improved or deteriorated. Because the car is so new it should be replaced.

Think they have a task to sell new 12v batteries on the back of all the failures they were getting. 
They told me the same - so I asked them which element if failed on? They couldn’t tell me, so told them to do one. That was 3 months ago and Battery is performing well ( original Battery and 5 years old ).
