Hey everyone

I've got hold of a nav kit from a crash damaged AYGO X-Play, before i go ahead and plug it all in, will the head unit from the X-Trend work with it?

(i didn't get the screen from the damaged one as it was broken). From what i saw and other images I've seen of the x-play unit, it has 2 buttons, on 1 side, whereas mine has 3 buttons (has the hey google/siri button).

Will updating the firmware to the Xtouch firmware from the link on the bottom of page one of this guide

https://www.toyota-tech.eu/aimuploads/0336742c-e173-406b-a612-fe19c04843bd/Aygo_X_NAV_RHD_PZ41C_90331_00_AIM_003_763_1.pdf

So basically, will updating the firmware to the 3 button unit work, or will i brick it?

An x-nav is the x-touch with a nav module plugged in

You can not use the X-nav with triple play (3 button) radio, they are very different, the triple play is designed to use android Auto or Apple Carplay and use your phone with the likes of google maps, Waze and many others, even Tom Tom have a free App what allows you to use maps without a data connection

it's not possible to use the wrong firmware as it's locked to a range of devices

TBH the x-nav is end of life and the map cards are not cheap

Yeah i figured as much. i've found SD card maps for the Aygo on eBay for £35.

i've decided to just go with the android auto route, as you said, end of line and maps have to be constantly updated.

thanks for the input  🙂
