Bz4x MyT application is down???

Hello, I wanted to check my bZ4X this morning but can't reach car location or Battery range sttaus or activate the climate control. Is anyone having same problem?

This sadly is a common occurrence and discussed many times on the RAV4 forum. Loss of location, missing trips and inability to instigate the cabin conditioning are often reported.

It looks like it is fixed now. But today between 06:00 and 09:00, it was down. 

 

These apps MUST be very consistent and reliable. But sometimes we cannot reach the vehicle.

Yes the glitches with the My T app can be annoying BUT as a former Peugeot owner all I can say is My T is faultless compared to the awful My Peugeot app I've used in the past.

I have been using the My T App for about a month. I would estimate App downtime at about 10%. Some journeys are not recorded & occasionally requires me to reinput password on login.

Agree it’s essential with a BEV that the phone application can and does reliably connect to the car.

As Ernie states, on the RAV4 forum it is a bit of a let down too, but universally it is thought that its random effectiveness would be difficult to live with on a pure BEV such as the Bz4x.

PHEV, 4 trips yesterday and only recorded 2, according to the app I must have teleported from one point in the country to another as it was the two trips in the middle that were missing.

That's pretty good going. Over the weekend I did 14 trips - MyT is showing 4.5 of them - the 0.5 is a trip it seems to know about but can't provide details for. It used to be imperfect, now it's pretty laughable ... 😉

Sadly it seems to be getting worse not better, very sad.

Things will change after 01.04.23 at Toyota. New President Sato promissed to be more mobile focused company. This includes MyT app and other smart functions of the toyota brand EV cars...

that’s good to know I just hope that the older generation cars are not forgotten in the drive to improve MyT app performance.

I think this app is the slowest app I have on my phone. Sometimes I cant log in, and sometimes it stops when it comes to 55%. I think downtime is between 10 to 15% of the time. Really horrible app!!

55% seems to be a favourite place for the app to pause and thing then potentially fail, I guess it’s trying to find the server? It’s been said before but it is a joke and something so very poor in comparison to the Toyota car’s reliability and longevity.

It is down especially on Sundays when all Toyota engineers enjoy their day off! 😂 No one to take care of servers.

Like everyone I find the app performance quite poor overall in terms of both reliability and the information given. I'd like to see a lot more stored/current data available relevant to bZ4X like ml/kWh or W/ml for each trip, overall total ml/kWh, kWh contribution of heating/other car usage to power consumption and so on. Also, charging losses in kWh or % which should be easily available. Tesla set the standard here- MyT has a long way to go to catch up.

Of interest, whenever I have used rapid chargers (and sitting in a nearby café with a coffee), the MyT app has always shown the % charge in almost real time with only a few minutes delay. Perhaps this information is somehow prioritised by the server?

A Sunday classic 😂 again I am a guest and  didn't recognise me. Car will ask my credentials all day long.

I don't think server gives priority to some features and some not. It's about the reliability of the overall server service and technology they use.

 

They will need to expand location of servers and invest money for a better performance. It is not always server problem by the way, I noticed that car has some bugs that stops it to connect MyT. We should be waiting first two major updates. I love the car but  If those problems are not fixed then I will consider selling my car and go for another EV brand. I can even consider Tesla. I don't wanna use an electric car with these bugs.
