Yaris Cross - Power tailgate and towbar?

Hi all, apologies if this has been asked before, couldn’t find a post.

Ordered the YC Excel AWD, which has the powered rear hatch, also ordered a Toyota towbar.

Now, as the powered hatch has the toe activation sensor, how can this work with an AWD model and a towbar? Heard various rumours that they remove the power lift in this case, but no one is really sure.

On combing the web, as you do, the larger (Highlander) models in the US just move the toe sensor to one side if you order new with an official towbar, third party towbar installers just disable the sensor.

Anyone had experience or knowledge of this?

Hi George, I have the YC Excel AWD and - unless I'm doing something wrong - the foot activation sensor is disabled when the towbar is fitted
