Toyota avensis 2002. 2litre Petrol

Hi Folks. My Engine light came on. Bank P0430 Bank 2. My garage reset engine light and told me to use Cataclean which I did. EML light didnt come back on. Today 3 weeks later It did come back on. I reset EML light by myself. I will probably need a lamba probe recommended by my garage.

Also I found today when I stopped at a junction the vehicle stalled. Stalled when I took my foot off the accelerator.

Please would a faulty lamba cause the vehicle to stall? Also would the stalling be related to the throttle body.

I also checked my car for an Air Mass Unit attached to the air box. It didnt have one. Would anyone know where it is on my car

Now you have given enough info regarding your car, I assume you must have a Mk1 Avensis with the 2 litre 1AZ-FSE. This engine is a direct injection engine. That means is has a second fuel pump which is high pressure. Note this engine is not recommended to use E10 fuel!

To answer your question, look at the following link - https://toyota-club.net/files/faq/04-11-20_faq_az_eng.htm

1AZ-FSE_scv_1_800.png According to the image, No.3 is the MAP sensor, mounted on the inlet manifold.

You need to check the vacuum pipes, the fuel system including the injectors. Also check the wiring and connections.
Haynes manual covers this car engine combo.
