Egr location 1.2t

Hi all.

Could anybody help me locate the egr valve on my auris 1.2 turbo? Cars done nearly 70000mls and may need cleaning due to lumpy idle, but ive looked everywhere and cant find it

Hi, 

I have no idea where exactly is in your engine but you can look near the turbo and cat converter, otvmogjt be a metal pipe that leads towards a cooler and then it’s the egr with black plastic actuator on top.
The egr could be positioned closer to the intake manifold, built into the block  or on top of the engine along the intake pipes. Just keep looking and you will find it. 👍

I don't think its external, as I was wondering the same. If you search for EGR in the below link:

as quoted:

"Further, by using the scavenging effect of the exhaust, it is also used for internal EGR and to prevent knocking."

The teardown report is quite detailed, with all the main components of the engine. But nowhere is an external EGR to be seen, It must be integrated with the exhaust manifold which is casted in the cylinder head, which connects directly to turbocharger.

Cant be user serviceable, and there are no solenoids etc operating it.

No mention of EGR in partsouq either. I dont think it has one.
