Avensis Central Locking Prob

Hi everyone and HELP!

For the first time since I bought my avensis new 2 years ago the central locking has stopped working. It's completely dead. Tried the spare key and the same happens. Spoke to Toyota today and they suggested it could be atmospherics or some sort of radar or phone mast interferring with it and told me to drive the car about half a mile away and try it again. I did and the car locked. So I drove to the end of my road and it worked. The only place it won't work is on my drive!!! Toyota said it would probably be OK in a few days time. Has anybody else had this happen?

It can happen if you live close to a transmitter of some kind, like a main TV mast or mobile phone transmitter.

Don't know of anything which would interfere with it and why would it do it now after 2 years without a problem - nobody else seems to be having probs with their central locking round here - typical.
