The dreaded Hybrid System Malfunction

So after me being smug about our Yaris, it had been sat for 3 weeks, the missus started it fine but half way to work it fired the warnings and died.

She left it for 20 mins, restarted and it's fine.  I've advised her to drive around for a good 30 minutes or so before parking it at work.

She spoke to the Toyota recovery people and even they said yes, it's probably the 12v issue.

It's my own stupid fault for not starting and running it during those 3 weeks.  Need to do this during the summer holidays.

Also need to check it starts ok tomorrow and the 12v Battery doesn't have cell damage.

It’ll be fine. Just charge it up 👍

Stupid question I know but I guess we just connect Battery charger to the jump start +ve terminal as if we were jump starting?

Hm , you can measure the voltage when she comes back and if you have a charger handy perhaps set it up for an overnight charge.

Called in at my local Toyota dealer today and asked the salesman the same (stupid) question, he lifted the bonnet on the showroom yaris cross and they had it on charge connected to the jumpstart fusebox terminal,he said it was OK to do so.
