What to expect from my new Y. Cross Adv. Plus.

I am changing my 12 year old RAV4 Advance 4x2 (manual) which I love, for a Yaris Cross Adventure Plus, which I will get, hopefully, in about 10 days.   The main reason for the change:  I need an automatic hybrid small car (my left knee does not like the Clutch anymore), on the other hand, here in Madrid you cannot circulate in some places with a Diesel car.  You may ask: "how on earth would you change your RAV4 for a YC?" Well... such is life!

Having said that, I would like to know your experiences with the Yaris Cross Adventure in normal city roads and not so normal roads.  I have read in this post that some people were having problems with the MyT in the YR.  When I asked my dealer, he said not to know anything about it.

Anything else or any defects I should know? I know it would not be as powerful as my RAV4.  I am a 65+ Spanish lady, enjoy driving, love cars, and... want to know what to spect from my new YR Adventure Plus.

Thanks in advance.

If that video is of the model you are getting I am sure you will enjoy it.

The one in the video has a head up display, I don't know if that is still available in UK.  Also the arrangement in the central consol is different from my MY21 Cross.  The 12v socket is much more obvious.

As in the video, it is easy to drive, the driver aids such as rear traffic warning, blind spot monitoring, radar cruise control, front and rear proximity sensor all work well.

He mentioned the high seating position, that is indeed good and you don't feel as if you might be squashed by a truck.  Getting in and out is easy too.

The tailgate sensor for opening and closing can be perfect if you have your hands full.  The boots has two levels, a high deck which is great for every day use and ease of access.  There is a useful lower deck that is ideal for things you will leave in the car.  For greater luggage capacity you could remove the upper deck board.

You may read about the 12v Battery problem.  This should not be a problem if you put the car in Ready mode (start it) for 30 minutes per week.  That 30 minutes could be driving it for a total of 30 minutes in the week or just switching it on.

I get better than 4.7l/100km.

I am sure you will love it.

I think you will enjoy it! It's obviously a smaller vehicle, but otherwise similar spec to the Rav 4, including instrument cluster.
