Toyota yaris 1.8 sr mild restoration begins

Needs a machine polish on the doors, but it's looking nice.

Some new outer lower door seals fitted this morning. The old ones were cracking and splitting. It's the small things that make a difference

Just another update on the restoration project on the yaris 1.8 sr.

I've decided to focus on just purchasing parts from Toyota whilst most parts are still available. Some parts I've bought are OEM purely from a price perspective. 

Here is what is already purchased...

Genuine toyota parts 

Headlights

Rear exhaust back box

Shocks, struts, all bearings, bushes, nuts, bolts, washers etc

All brake hoses, some brake lines

Water pump, v belt, oil pump, brake master cylinder, clutch cylinder, hoses and bolts etc

Several gaskets for the side skirts, cylinder head, door seals, outer door trims

New wing mirrors, covers and trims

Interior plastic trims, gear knob, instrument cluster cover, etc

Wheel bearings, knuckles, back plates, various bolts. Brake caliper rebuild kits.

Rear beam bushes, bolts.

Fuel filler neck, rubber hoses, some fuel lines, fuel cap.

Engine cover, ventilation hoses, lots of clips, nuts, screws and bolts in the engine bay. Oil sump and bolts. Dip stick, various tubes and fittings

OEM denso alternator and starter motor with genuine bolts

KYB springs

Radiator and some hoses

Rear lights and fog lights

Lot's more to order, front section of exhaust, control arms, drive shafts, calipers etc.

Plan is for a full strip down and respray. Underside restoration. Possibly a new engine (£4500+delivery and fitment). Gearbox rebuild along with new clutch.
