I have a 2021 MY21 Corolla 1.8 TS TREK. I'm think I'm having an issue with the climate control display. When I start/switch vehicle on, the climate display only shows the drivers temp. To display the passenger setting I have to turn the passenger temp control knob. This will display both until I switch off ignition and next time I switch ignition on, I'm back to single drivers side display. It doesn't matter if I have climate control set to dual on or off, or auto on and off, or whether temperatures are set the same or different at each side.

Can I confirm with others it should always display both as I'm sure it used too.

Also when on Auto should it also display fan speed symbol and symbol of which vents are active on the display, these on mine only show up on manual setting. Again can others confirm what should be displayed.

Thanks

Hi,

In auto mode usually there is no indication where the air will be blowing towards as this will be switch between the different vents while the hvac is working, it will be windows, feet and mid section as per the ecu orders.
In manual mode you can select and limit that to your prefer air blower direction. About the dual or single don’t know, might be a good idea to double check owners manual.

Pretty sure both dials on mine always show the temp.

Not sure if the Yaris is different, but IIRC it shows the same temp on both when in single mode. Am second guessing myself now, but will try to remember to check tomorrow!

In auto mode, only temp is displayed, not the vent position or fan speed.

Settings needs to be checked. There was an option if I remember correctly where the hvac settings can be made, the heating to work only on driver side to save energy ( fuel). , or maybe was on another car, not sure now. Other than that, yes should display both sides no matter what mode is in, single or dual.

Definitely a setting on MY22 to select driver only, try the different buttons?

LHS display not showing is linked to S-Mode which will focus climate control to drivers side only. It is controlled by the following button (*f). Whilst this is on, it is possible to get the LHS to reappear if you adjust the passenger side temp dial (*b). If S-Mode is still on when you turn off ignition the display will be off when you next start the vehicle. image.thumb.png.dfa37775d7e4d676c6f2ac4abc7792a4.pngimage.thumb.png.288d2781d5f3aa52dcb3dec6c534a222.png

Hi many thanks for all the replies. Jason 160b that worked, display query solved and many thanks. I thought I'd pressed everything. My user guide describes S mode but the part you've highlighted in yellow re the temp display is not in my user guide, it makes no mention of that function affecting passenger display. I'd even checked with dealer who didn't know why my temp display was only on drivers side when switching on, and were going to check it out at next service in a few weeks.

As usual this forum is a great resource of helpful and knowledgeable owners. Thanks.
