Hello all

As you can see i am new at this kind of thing. Can someone help me as i am have problems with my heating direction  control switch as it is jammed and will not move. I have taken the whole unit apart and when i do eveything loosens up. and seems to work fine. the switch seems to rotate. As soon as i connect the cable to the back of the switch it works fine but how ever as soon as i connect it to what I think is the the core box. can someone tell me is there a motor of some kind between the cable and the core box the the switch cable connects too that is locking it up. As i am unable to control the direction of the flaps. do i need to check the actuator motor? I hope someone can help

Hi!

Do you have any photos to illustrate the parts you are mentioning?

If not, you could always find a similar part for sale on eBay and copy their pictures for your own use here.

Also, how many miles has the car done?  Is the problem permanent? How long has the fault existed?

I can't remember reading about a similar problem on this forum before - the heaters are usually very robust, and as you will have seen, made by Denso.  Generally their products are of a decent quality.

As you have cables the AC flap operation is manual and the cable will act on a lever or cam on the heater box
