Looks like we're getting another update. And this time, it's gonna be over the air for the first time.

Not had a letter yet, but it seems a bit pointless to send the letter as you don't have anything to check if the OTA software has been applied or not?
Something like this surely could have just been a message in the app and only send a letter if the OTA update had failed for some reason.

As far as I know, we will be notified via infotainment screen once OTA update comes the car.

The letter sending probably has something to do with the nature of the fault. As built the car does not comply with "UN Regulation No. 48" and thus 'fails' type approval. It seems like a relatively minor issue for the driver; it's probably a much bigger issue for Toyota ...

The letter says there will be no notification in the car.

Good day. The vehicle is equipped with this feature. Please refer to the attached screenshot. If you have enabled this option, you should have received a notification.

Ah, yes, but ...

The letter indicates that the update applies to the DCM firmware rather that to the infotainment system itself. The infotainment system is not being updated so there will be no such notification.

I'd hope that the firmware version of the DCM module will be updated. If it is, 'all' the driver would need is a means to examine the firmware version of the DCM module - but, unless that is a feature of the existing infotainment system, I rather doubt that such a simple facility exists ...

I got a letter too this morning, and mine was one of the first batch of cars to be delivered, so i guess that everyone will be getting a letter shortly.

Like the letter says, it will update in the background, and there will be no notification when its been done.

Has anyone actually experienced the problem they are fixing? When using the remote start climate control the hazards flash for 20 mins & you can't turn them off. I've never had this issue.

I haven't, obviously ... 😉

But the letter states: "Due to a software logic issue, the vehicle and Remote Climate Control may turn off, without customer input, 5 minutes after it is turned on, and ...". So, it is quite possible that this is an unlikely scenario - had it been commonplace Toyota would have found and addressed it sooner ...

The new feature,  see pic, all i noticed was that it would act like the one pedal driving and brake more aggressive if your foot was off the pedal and and obstacle was detected(one pedal driving is off)20240806_185311.thumb.jpg.aae14015bb058dc1f6ec7c42e59c0018.jpg. I got mine done on Tuesday. The Toyota dealership has updated the way it informs customers, as this was the first time I received an SMS with a status link to a video. The video showed the technician with a laptop plugged into my vehicle.

I got mine updated today. Another function is activated by Toyota with this update: PDA (Proactive Driving Assist).

Now we have one missing feature: the keyless entry system. Some models also have Traffic Jam Assist, but I don't think this will be activated for the bZ4X.

I wonder if this PDA will be in all models or only like Vision (UK)?

According to Toyota: all safety sense functions are standart for all trims except Automatic High Beam (AHB)/Automatic High-beam System (AHS).

Hey, has anyone else gotten this error message?

Yeah getting the update error 101 as well, also the app isn't updating mileage or trips - I suspect it is an issue with the DCM contacting the server, I have had this before (without the message) and it went away after a while.

My 'Update Error 101' resolved itself late last night, I suspect this was a temporary comms issue with the server, which I have seen before (that also affected the emergency call function as that kept beeping that time)
