Then , pretty much a characteristic of the car 👌

Never heard that on Prius or Auris hybrids. Last car I was getting this after each drive was an old lancer 1.6 from 2007. This cracking most likely comes from the exhaust manifold and cat converter heat shield. Nothing to worry about. 👍

I record that noises. I don't expect this behavior too on a modern car, heh.

Haha, that’s the one 👍

It reminds me the older times.
Gen3 hybrids has a metal cover over the exhaust manifold but also has a lots of cuts within, perhaps this helps. On your cars it seems like a complete one without cuts. The bolts look like has some special washers but not sure .

Maybe GPF cleaning? I will ask about it during annual service but my guess is same, nothing dangerous just metal shrinking.

If its when its cold, it might juat be the brake pads not floating on the carrier properly. Clean and regrease and it should be ok. Also as mentioned above, get the slider pins throughly cleaned and greased with the right grease

Mine does it when it's not in full lock, yes I can feel it under foot and slightly on steering, but it's quite a loud clunk , silly as it sounds though , but it's taken the joy out of me changing my car if you know what I mean .. it's a 16 plate but only 27000 on clock , so it's put me off it ABIT 😒

Mine has done it from new and never got worse. It has 85k miles on it now, so don't worry! It's a great car!

Could be front tyre skipping, my front does that recently, falkens branded, won't be getting them again.

I suppose it's all subjective, past and present experiences and personal opinions. I use and do have Falken (summer) tyres fitted and never had any issues with them.

No bush kangaroo issues at all. Excellent wet performance, quiet and comfortable ride. They don't rate particularly well for fuel efficiency though.

Drove on snow/slush covered, non gritted, local roads last night without having any squeaky bum moments!

Prior to last autumn there was no issue with the falkens, so when new it was fine. Got down to about 4.5mm last autumn then it started. On the whole this tyre has been reliable and has good rating for a medium level tyre. The car had Dunlop previously and there was no tyre skipping even at 3.5mm.

My next car will come with Bridgestone, once done, most likely to change to Goodyear EGP2.

As did mine mine until, at about 4 years old, all four had inner and outer sidewall cracks and were splitting between the treads. Still with about 6mm tread depth. Only MoT advisories but they're all there is between car and road!

That's Dunlplop on the naughty step.

I thought you were talking about some sort of axle clunk but is it just tyre skipping? The Yaris Mk1's were notorious for that at full-lock due to the wheels not lining up more and more as steering angle increased. Gave them a very progressive understeer characteristic which taught me a lot about grip recovery and steering dynamics (Unlike my previous Fiesta which would just grip and grip for days and then suddenly throw you into the verge  )

Tyre skip perhaps because they are very narrow. Never happened to me on cars with wider tyres but always on these small ones with skinny tyres. OP Yaris is a 1.0 Aygo powered car and comes with Aygo size tyres , right ?

I don't know what the noise is lol .a few on here have said it's just tyre skipping,so hoping it's that .I didn't realise that would make a clunking noise, but by sound of it,it does .. going to get tyres changed soon ,and see if that makes a difference , so any recommendations on decent tyres would be appreciated 😊

What’s your tyres size?
Different make and models tyres perform differently within the different sizes. Are you looking for summer or all season tyres?

The turning circle also doesn't help when on full lock, the turning circle is so tight on these cars i couldn't believe it when i first drove mine.
