I'm in an industrial area too and poor roads so lots of potential nails lurking waiting for a good juicy tyre to chomp on. Last one was picked up at Birmingham airport, it must have been close to the site as the head of the screw wasn't particularly worn down

I think everyone goes through a phase where they just seem to attract punctures; I had it so bad in my Mk1 once that I tried that PunctureSafe stuff just because I got sick of having to replace almost-new tyres so regularly! It worked a treat too, I think one tyre had 3 or 4 nails in it when it finally came time to change it

This is why I wish tyre manufactures would put their own sealants in as standard as it would save so much hassle, but trying to find one of any size is like trying to find a winning lottery ticket!

Yup, mine certainly did! Unfortunately it was in BAR and I didn't realize how high 4.2 bar was until I figured out how to change the display to PSI!
…………………….

Without looking up a conversion I know that circa 64 psi, just a wee bit over what it should be 🤪

It was about that yeah - In hindsight I'm amazed I didn't understeer into a wall or something at the first turn!!

As if the 17" rims were uncomfortable enough, having them 3x over their rated pressure probably didn't help

When I took my car back for a couple of faults, that were on the car and not been checked properly when I  bought it. So much for the 145 checks they are supposed to do! I asked my dealer to check the front tyre as there was traces of tyre sealer on the valve stem, and they supplied fresh sealer and a new pump when I bought the car, and the TPMS  fault may be related to that. I was not confident that I might be running on tyre sealer and a puncture that haven’t been fixed properly. Anyway they said that the tyre had been checked and the TPMS alarm was a sensor not recognised, so they reset it and all was well. I had my doubts about how well they had looked at the tyre, but they had reassured me all was well. A couple of days later, I noticed scuff marks on the wheel rim, bugger scuffed it already, so much for careful driving. When I got home ready for some repair work, in sunlight yes that golden thing had made an appearance, on close inspection it was tyre lubricant. They had actually removed the tyre to inspect it, it put back a lot of faith in good service at Pinkstones 👍

we have a great deal of construction / house building going on ,the amount of screws you see about the roads it`s a wonder they have any left to work with.

Having suffered (Another) slow puncture a few weeks ago I have invested in one of the Aliexpress TPMS add-ons that let the dashboard show the individual tyre pressures. Fitted it today with no real issues. Works just great - and now I can very easily check my tyre pressures whenever I like - and it tells me which tyre has a problem - rather than just showing a pretty unhelpful orange symbol.   What I don’t understand is that all the data to show this is on the CAN bus, the existing dashboard is clearly configured to show it - however the feature is turned off until you add this little module.   Yet another very odd thing on this car. This is the one I purchased https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004304534628.html

How exactly does this work? Is it another setting to scroll through? As far as I know the GR dials are different to the other models?

It adds a new option to to the cluster centre screen. Can't remember exactly where without going to the car, however it simply appears when adding this module.
