Etc Electrical connector live and ground .

Hi guys,

I drive Estima 2010, I would like to remove etc drive and use the 12v supply for connecting some ambient lighting onto the dash board. I need an advise on how to find out the 12v live and ground wires in the connector so that I can tap the wires.The connector has about 4 wires. 

I found a grey and white with black line wires connected to Cigarette light connector, and thought the same will be 12 volt and ground in the ETC connector but the same does work. I am not able to location, appreciate for any information.

Praveen, did you try it with the ignition on? 

I ran a separate (Fused supply for my ancilleries as I wanted some things like my cool box to stay on when the ignition was off.

Hi John,

12v supply is ready avl on ETC device even with out Ignition OFF. I have just ordered a Multimeter on eBay to check the wires. 

I want to remove the etc device and tap 12v supply connect some lights.

If you tap it off the 12v aux socket, centre pin is live, outer is ground, make sure it's fused !!!!

if you want it to work with the headlights, tap the power at illumination wire on the radio
