Common causes:

Spider setting off internal sensor.

Moisture ingress (leaking sunroof?)

Agree an insect of some kind. Never thought this could really happen until I found a very small fly that caused mine to trigger the alarm.

I guess with a 2005 car it could be an intermittent/faulty sensor, maybe one that's not happy with the cold and damp?
