Suzuki Across - Dash Speaker Upgrade

UK Rav4 clone, parts the same, until now!

Upgrading the dash Speakers and found the passengers side Speakers is actually 2 Speakers. A little plastic one rated 4 ohms / 20 watt (same as the other side) but then a physically big one that is only rated 4 amps / 1.5 watt.

Any ideas what this additional speaker does, and what I'd lose by removing it?

(You'll also see from the photo I managed to dent the cones! D'oh!)

That will be from a JBL car, the small one is a tweeter and the larger one is a high-Mid range you will have a 6.5" mid-low in the door

standard is a 2 way component setup and the JBL is a 3 way component setup with amplifier

Apologies - found it on another Rav4 forum - a Japanese language one (thank Google translate!)

It's the speaker for the SOS calls, apparently. Recommendation was to remove it from it's plastic surround and tuck it back inside the dash.

Thanks though!

My mistake

there are 3 different setup, 4 speaker without sos - 6 speaker with sos - 9/11 speaker (usually JBL) SOS is fed through the driver's door speaker

iirc you can get 3.5" Speakers in the dash locations

... and you'd have found it on this forum (in English) if you'd looked in the right place ... 😉

Easy to search "SOS speaker" once you've identified that's what it is! I searched the part number and only found the Japanese language site.

For future searchers, it's:
