Me too Hasan.

Mine is having to stand again since last Monday, COPD flare up again, so laid up in hospital.

After all the snow and freezing since, I am hoping the Battery survives, but hey ho if not then I can maybe get a mobile Battery fitter out,if such things exist.

Ridiculous I know, for such a simple thing that I could easily do myself, but needs must and all that.

Isn’t there a member close to you who could help you out?

Such a kind thought Adam, not sure if there are any members actually in Lincoln, I know a couple or so are in Lincolnshire.

I could maybe give a shout out on here when I am out of hospital, assuming of course that the Battery will be well and truly dead by then, I know they don't take long in cold weather when not being run.

Last time this happened last winter, a neighbour gave me a jump start, and it recovered,it was stood 3 days that time IIRC.

Hope it's not too long before you are up and about again Paul, (and the Battery is okay 😊).

Not seen many used mk4's under 20k TBH (decent spec that is) 20/21 plates have issues, Toyota hybrids do hold their money well tho

Mk3 is a solid car - 2014 on they ironed out a lot of issues - AGM Battery on the Mk3 hybrid is a bit pricey tho

if it is ex motobility see what tires it has on it as they're usually cheap Chinese ditch finders from Kwack fat or the stealer - mid range 15" tires are around £50-60

I would. You never know who is nearby. If I was closer, I’d help you out. 👍

Same applies to anyone around my area.

Thank you Danny.

At least I have my phone which gives me a window into the world outside, and of course TOC. 🙂

Tyres - Dunlops on rear, they’ve just put 2 brand new Kumho on fronts.

Did see mk4 Design today at £19,450. 70 plate with 24k on it.

We bought my wife a MK3 Hybrid Cyan Blue edition 18 months ago which she is really happy with. Just before buying this I had a MK4 Hybrid for a week and they are not worlds apart.

I would be the same as you, I’d only buy from a local Toyota dealer simply because I’d want it prepped by people who know these cars and if an issue arises after the purchase you can go straight back and sort it. Prices seem to have barely changed in this time, hers is 2019 with 30k on it and we paid £15k.

New is 19k, that is what I ordered. Have the MK3 currently, has to be MK4 and new for me with current used market pricing. That is also good as my MK3 command about the same price when bought almost 5 years ago. Screenshot_2023-03-12-20-38-58-303_com.android.chrome.thumb.jpg.27e004397fa7d3938fa62ae2fbebf686.jpg

It seems prices have gone up in that 18 months. I’m seeing 2017 & 2018 models at £15k.

We are paying a premium for used hybrid cars now - due to move towards EV and new car production curtailed. The 2019 model has some updates over the earlier cars. They seem a bit better in some areas. Parking sensors on rear opposed to front.

Glad she likes her Yaris. A happy wife, happy life. 😬

As I mentioned earlier, she had a mk4 Design 22 plate on 0%, but build issues, plus she was working from home meant she didn’t really need it.

Sold it 4 months later for £2500 more than what we paid for it.

Don't want to go into PCP - especially with rates now at 7- 9% apr.

You did well. Yes 9.9% apr is bad. My 24months PCP have a interest of £2600! However I will be settling the finance a day after picking up the car, no way would be paying that interest. Hopefully there will be no built quality issues with mine.

If you do go for PCP, remember the dealers are getting a significant contribution from Toyota so you can either get them to discount it much more heavily or front-load the cost so the monthlies are less.

Also be aware if the 2nd ULEZ extension goes ahead, there will be a sharp rise in demand for petrol and hybrid cars in London; The people seem to be burying their heads in the sand a lot more than the first extension as I haven't noticed the same demand rise that started to pick up as the first extension approached (Or maybe people just can't afford it now, as KHAAAAAAN! seems to be banking on).

A few people I know are thinking of selling their cars while the prices are high and just using a car club or somesuch in the hope things calm down in the meantime.

It really is very much a sellers' market at the moment and I can't see that changing any time until the chip shortage properly ends, someone jolly stomps Putin, and KHAAAAAN! gets kicked out.

Sorry to hear that. Don't worry about the car, just let yourself recover and get back to health.

She won’t go on PCP.
Not sure they will budge on price of the 19 plate either.  May end up not going ahead and keeping the i10. At least I have an hybrid.

Might even sell the i10, let her use my C-HR and I’ll go to work on my Scooter. 🤷🏻‍♀️👍

Did you checked for an used Suzuki like Swift or Ignis ( with auto gearbox obviously ) ?  Maybe they're cheaper than Yaris and a close MPG.

Dealer has sent an image of a repair they’ve carried on door pillar exterior. Now, I’m aware car is 4 years old, but what do you think of the repair? Before and after pics.

I’ve asked for the pillar trim to be changed - both sides.

It should be possible to do better.  I had a 6 inch long scratch on the wing.  A repair company fixed it at home in 2 hours.  It would be a waste of time denying anyone to find it.  It was as new.

I think the issue is, they don’t want to spend any money on it! A touch-up brush is not good enough imo.

As it happens, I was just reading my chip repair details.  'Touch in' will fill a chip but still be visible.

Where did you get that information from?

PCP is only a financial product, it's seperate from the price of the car. Makes no difference to a dealer if you buy the car with cash, PCP, HP or any other type of finance.

The dealer will only receive their commission as long as the financial product is in place so if say you buy the car on PCP and then settle the finance within say the first month, the dealer stands to get sod all compared to someone who lets their PCP run for the full term. The commission isn't that significant to offer further price reductions tho.

If a dealer were to offer further discounts on top of the finance company for PCP alone then that's one hell of a gamble.
