Hi Guys

Hope somebody here can help! My 2009 Aygo Blue as started to have issues with the stero  it started with sometimes the buttons not working which if just learnt to live with but yesterday when I turned the ignition off and took out the key the stero did not turn off andNo buttons worked either! I have had a look about and issues with these stereos seems fairly common. I ended up disconnecting the stero in the dash but now obviously my bluetooth phone connection does not work. My question is if I replace the stero do I need something specific as I have the hands free or can I use any stero? Was thinking of getting a replacement unit 2nd hand off eBay but the issues with these units seems like I could just end up with the same problem again and also I don't know if any 2nd hand Aygo stero is fine to use or does it need to have come out of an Aygo Blue?

Hope you can help cheers!

Get a like for like unit, go by the part number on the top

radios are common across all Mk1 aygo's

on an 2009 i think you have the bluetooth add on with a small control panel for the phone, if so the radio should be the standard 86120-0H010

someone may have fitted the later radio 86120-YV010 (6 buttons around the display)

If your replacement second hand radio breaks down too, it's not such a big problem.  They come really cheap, these older models with the "more than 2" buttons.                                                     Theoretically, the brand that made the radio (not pioneer for this one, I guess) could be asked for a repair but that would probably cost too much. If you want to know, ask for an estimate / call the brands service center.

You don't need a AYGO BLUE specific radio. Only disadvantage you could have if you buy a generic radio would be the car specific information (if applicable) like f.e. fuel consumption will not be visible any more. I think on the 2009 models, not much car specific info is given inside the radio.

2009 is just a CD/radio, nothing else, it's not integrated like a modern car, it's not worth fixing there are loads about from £15 upwards the later ones 12-14 are a bit more pricey - the factory repair service has been long since discontinued it was something like €140 plus tax and shipping you can get a very good aftermarket radio for around 100 from the likes of alpine or pioneer (non AA or AC)

Just grab a replacement off eBay for peanuts. Just note the part number and it should be plug and play - the bluetooth is an external module anyway, so if the part number matches you'll be OK.  I just fitted an air bag control unit from a C1 to our 2010 Blue - just matched the part number (there are about 3 different versions).
