Starting issues

My previa only starts when the key is released. I have just replaced the starter because it wasn’t starting at all? Thanks in advance.

Problem being it should start under normal ignition sequence ie, turn the key full on and starts but not when releasing of the key. Now the car is not starting at all. Only when pushed.

Wonder could it be a problem with the ignition switch,
