New MyT app

My (android) MyT app informed this morning there was a new MyT app I should download (eg. not just a regular update but a distinct new app). I followed the link to the google play store and installed the new app. However, I'm unable to add my RAV4 PHEV as a vehicle when I enter the VIN, and the list of compatible vehicles it displays doesn't even include the RAV4.
So, I'm suspecting the (old) app was in error telling me to use the new app. Unless anyone else has had success?

The old / existing version of the Android app is still working for me - it is not suggesting that I need update. But there again I have a HEV.

Either way, your car should remain registered to you / your existing account - it doesn't make sense that you would need to register it again. Can you still access your account and vehicle via the My Toyota website?

I didn't get a message but saw the app and downloaded it out of interest. 

It allowed me to log on with my account details as normal but, as you, wouldn't recognise my VIN. I think the message that came up said something like, if you don't have an Aygo X, Yaris or Yaris Cross, then please use the My T by Toyota app instead. I guess it just isn't for us.

Sadly just another example of the confusion that currently exists with the Toyota App, they should have surely got this sorted before they pushed into the market?

Just tried the iOS version and when trying to add vehicle with my VIN it pops up an error dialog that says if your vehicle is not an Aygo X, Yaris or Yaris Cross with Smart Connect then you should use MyT by Toyota (old app) as opposed to Toyota MyT (new app).

Toyota are rolling out an all new MyT app this is being done in phases starting with Aygo X, Yaris & Yaris Cross  with other models being added in phases throughout 2023 prioritising cars with Smart Connect multimedia.
