It's really nice. I think the Aygo is the perfect size for a city, the cross for more space. My requirement though is auto, hybrid and space like the Yaris cross with more power, put the 1.8 new corolla engine in would be perfect for me.

Very nice color!

Personally, I think that this latest version is too wide for the city. They used the same platform as the Yaris 4's so it is as wide.

A more powerful Aygo would be very fun to drive, but it would imply many mechanical changes.

As for the hybrid, it would increase weight and price. There is no need in such a light car. I'm not convinced that producing batteries is environmental-friendly so I am glad the Aygo did not turn hybrid. It has already followed so many fashions (huge wheels and rims, crossover...).

I'm the opposite. If the Aygo was a hybrid, the Goodd Lady and I would have seriously considered buying one instead of the Yaris.

they still come with a CVT auto though. I think if they had done it as a hybrid, it would have priced it out of my range and I would have had to have gone with a Kia Picanto instead.

The gap between the Aygo and the Yaris has been reduced. I think it is a wise choice to leave the Yaris to those who want to go for an hybrid.

The CVT was an excellent news. It is fantastic to have the Aygo with a real automatic gearbox at last.

Me too - The Mk4 is about a foot longer than my Mk1 and Mk2, and it doesn't sound like much but it's made a noticeable difference in my ability to find parking spaces to squeeze in to.

The AygoX, my general loathing of crossovers and SUVs aside, is basically a Mk2 Yaris in terms of dimensions including the length and high driving position. If they made one with the Mk4's hybrid system and all its tech I'd get one in a heartbeat!

I do like the Mk4 - The lower wider stance does make it a lot more fun to hoon around than the Mk2 and even Mk1 despite the large weight penalty, but it is a lot more anxiety-inducing to drive through narrow London streets and tight parking spaces! There are a few places that are super narrow that I wouldn't even slow down for in the Mk1 and Mk2, but the Mk4 is just that bit wider that I couldn't do that safely in it.

I understand exactly what you are saying regarding London driving/parking. The Aygo is the perfect size for it.

Due to personal usage of sometimes a full load of people and luggage for long distance trips, I actually need the MK4 a bit long for comfort and boot space, like 4100mm about the length of the YC. Corolla just cost too much for my budget.

The funny thing is the Mk2 actually has more interior space than the Mk4 despite being shorter   The Mk4 has a much bigger engine bay to accommodate all the hybrid gubbins, which pushes the cabin back, whereas the Mk2 looks like it's been in a front-end accident that's squashed the nose right up to the cabin, so more of its overall length is cabin.

The Mk1 and Mk2 were proper TARDIS cars, it was amazing how much stuff I could fit in them!

Aygo X sometimes looks like slightly chunkier than Yaris mk4 when looking at one on the streets. On the front seats may offer even more space than the Yaris but on the rear is where it looses the game, very limited space and darker than the Yaris.

yeah, fortunately for me lack of space in the rear isn't a problem as I have no kids and only an occaisonal canine traveller. Whether he'll be able to jump in due to the raised ride height I'll find out. My new Aygo is still stuck on order processing according to my toyota.

It's probably similar; There's no way the AygoX can have less rear passenger space than the Yaris Mk4 or it'd be classed as a 2+2

My picture is wrong one btw, it was Yaris cross uploaded by mistake, sorry about that. But definitely Yaris has more space and brighter interior on the rear seats than Aygo x has. 👌
