there is probably a chemical reaction between the color of the plastic to the smelling tree ...

A lot of air fresheners will damage stuff, most will tell you on the packaging.

Is buying a new piece an option? Probably get one from a scrapyard.

Problem solved, i took it out from the car, clean it well, i manage finding in my garage old fabric, old car seats covers, cut it to the size and end up sewing it in it's back side, that it won't move. before i put it back i put on the connect points a little silicon glue that it won't make any noise later, it become very nice +++ looks like it's original like this, now i left my glasses it's like a special place to let it rest on the fabric, that it wont touch the plastic trim 🙂
